How to Make Wild Rice in the Instant Pot

Making wild rice in the instant pot is my favorite way to cook wild rice! Super simple to set it and let it do its thing while I accomplish other tasks.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice washed
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Add the rice to a mesh strainer and rinse it with water. Add the rice, water, and salt to the instant pot.
  • Pressure cook the rice for 30 minutes.
  • Once cooked, let it slow release for 20 minutes.
  • Take the lid off the Instant Pot, fluff the rice up with a fork, and remove from the instant pot.

Notes

Storage:
Store leftover wild rice in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. If freezing, store in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months.
